TCPTUES98 - Bring on Spring!

Happy Tuesday :) This week we're thinking Spring at TCP, and Susan is hosting our stamp challenge this week - pull out those Spring TCP stamps and have fun! Even if there's snow outside like we have here in Conifer! I haven't put my card together yet, but do check back later this week to see what I come up with - I'm looking forward to getting my Spring stamps inky :)

Also, if you're looking for some more TCP ideas I got my copy of Scrap & Stamp Arts' "Just Birthdays" in the mail today - I have 3 TCP cards in there and I saw several others (including some from my fellow Cat Pack member, Ana!) - it's a great issue to add to your stash :)

Movie Night

I picked up this "Chick Flick" set from My Favorite Things right after the February release - you can see the entire set here. I like sets for friends, ones you can use for "just because" occasions :)
Bunco was tons of fun last night. There were 12 of us playing, and our hostess Melissa was terrific - we all had a night with friends, food and fun, and we're getting together again next month.
It's really chilly here today! I went to the grocery store first thing this morning and it was only 14 degrees. I stayed home for the rest of the day - did some reading, had a snooze, and caught up on some of my TV shows. We're expecting more cold (and some snow!) tomorrow...enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Cake (and other stuff)!

Happy Wednesday :) I've been all mixed up with my days this week since the Monday holiday...makes for an interesting time at work - ha ha! It's been a busy week so far - lots going on with kindergarten registration, learning new procedures, and just starting to think about the end of the school year and getting ready for the next school year! It's a job where I seem to be thinking 4 months ahead most of the time :)
It's been chilly here this week, but sunny! I don't mind it being cold when the sun is out - the sunshine makes everything better! Things have been a little tough for me lately as I am still coming to terms with Iain and me separating - it's a long, hard process and I am very lucky to have some special friends to help me find my way through it all.
On Friday night I'm going to a newly-formed Bunco group - there will be a group of us from school playing together once a month for drinks, foods, chat and maybe even some Bunco :) Should be fun!
Today's card is one I made with some paper I found at the weekend when I was trying to decide on papers to use for my TCP Tuesday card. The stamp is from TCP's "You Say It's Your Birthday" set, and it's an image I use a lot because it's another terrific one for coloring or paper piecing. Thanks as always for stopping by!

TCP Tuesday - Color Challenge

It's TCP Tuesday again - this week we have a color challenge hosted by the very talented Joanne. I decided to use TCP's latest set ("A Beary Good Year") to make a fun St. Patrick's Day card with tons of green :) Hop over to Joanne's blog for all the details on playing along, and stop by the other Cat Pack blogs to see what everyone came up with!

Quiet day

So I spent the day at home today since the kids were with Iain. In the morning I made a bunch of cards, including my TCP Tuesday card for tomorrow's color challenge, and then this afternoon I took Tasha for a walk. It was a beautiful day - sunny, crisp and pretty with fresh snow on the ground!
This card was made with an image by Stampendous; I had lots of fun playing with the colors from the Basic Grey patterned paper to make a bright, cheery card with lots of layers and a little bling :) Have a great week!

Fellow "Amazing Race" fans :)

So...who watched the first episode of the new season tonight? I know my good friend Patti did :) It usually takes me a couple of episodes to figure out my favorites for sure, but tonight's episode was a really great opener for the season! That cable walk would have really scared me...the people who took it on were extremely brave...

Happy Hearts Day

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend. Nattie had a friend sleeping over last night; the two of them had lots of fun together and are still playing now :) This morning I went and got my hair cut and colored (no more gray!), and this afternoon I photographed a bunch of cards that I made last weekend, so I have lots to show you through this coming week :)
This one was made with a stamp I picked up by Stampendous, and the paper is by KI Memories, I believe. The layout is a very simple one I chose to use from the 2 sketches 4 you blog.
This morning the sun was out, but now things are clouding over - we might get a few inches of snow overnight. Tonight the kids and I will be cozy on the couch watching a movie, and tomorrow Iain is taking them out for new ski goggles while I spend a few hours stamping. Sounds good to me!

A Beary Good TCP Tuesday!

Welcome to our TCP Tuesday Blog Hop in celebration of The Cat's Pajamas' new stamp set release! You've been seeing peeks of the new set all week long, and tomorrow morning (Tuesday 9th) you'll finally be able to buy the whole "Beary Good Year" set with the bear and all his/her accessories to last all year long :) And don't forget, Alma will be announcing the winner of her bear naming contest at midnight tonigt on her "Dancing in Pajamas" blog - that person will win all of this year's TCP releases!!
Our hostess this week is Amy and her challenge is for us to use paper piecing, which is what I have here on this card made with the new set and Cosmo Cricket paper (and a layout from the OCC Sketch Blog). For this release Alma has not only stamps, but also glitter and buttons to match. The glitter is fantastic, really chunky and fun to work with!
If you're working your way through the hop, you'll be joining me from Leigh's blog. If you want go to back to the start, head to Amy's blog and you can catch up from there :) Your next stop is one of our favorite past members of the TCP Cat Pack who's playing along with us this time around - Katie Stilwater (tell her I sent you!). Happy hopping!

Beary Merry :)

The bear is back...here's a card to wish someone a "Beary Merry Christmas" using the new "Beary Good Year" set coming on Tuesday from The Cat's Pajamas :) The Cat Pack will have a blog hop this Tuesday to show off even more of what this set includes - you're going to love it!

Have a Beary Speedy Recovery :)

Here's another new card made with the "Beary Good Year" set coming in less than a week from The Cat's Pajamas! Our little bear is all ready to help someone feel better with his (or her) ice pack, syringe and thermometer :) And remember, Alma's holding a contest to find a name for the bear - and if you win, you can win all the TCP sets being released this year - check out the details on the TCP site.
Jamie is all better after a bout with strep last week, and now Nattie has it...so they're both on antibiotics - ugh! This week we have the school Science Fair, and Jamie's experiment was all about which batteries perform best. He and Iain are putting the finishing touches to his board tonight before the event tomorrow. I hope you're having a great week!

TCPTUES95 - Inspiration!

Hello all, I'm the Hostess this week for TCP Tuesday! I found the inspiration piece at the left for us to play with: you can be inspired by anything about the picture - just let that creativity come out! I liked the color scheme and decided it would be perfect for a Valentine card using the new "Beary Good Year" set coming February 9th from TCP. I used a sketch from the Card Patterns blog.
To play along, simply upload your card to the slide show for this week on Alma's blog. At the end of each month, Alma chooses her favorite from the TCP Tuesday slideshows, and the artist is named the Swanky Stamper for that month. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
