TCPTUES133 - Let's Hear It For the GIRLS!!

What a fun challenge Susan is hosting this week - it's all about the girls!! Use any TCP girl in your creation :) AND this week the Cat Pack is going to start showing sneak peeks of the upcoming stamp sets - the set I've used here is "Snowflake Girl" and you'll be able to order the set in just a couple of weeks (along with the fabulous snowflake and bracket dies!). Here's another TCP sample for you - this one is quite simple, but I really like how it turned out. The stamp set is called "Tutu Much" and features 3 bunny images and several different sentiments.

I hope you had a great week - work for me was busy, but fun :) We got more snow throughout the day yesterday - almost a foot, but it seems to be tapering off this morning. Have a super weekend, whatever you're up to!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Here's the card I made for last week's challenge on the "Our Creative Corner Challenge" blog. Jenny posted a sketch for us to work from.

For my card I pulled out my "Fluffles" stamp (by Stampendous!) - isn't he sweet sitting in the flower pot? I cut out the image with my Nestabilities dies and added a sentiment from an old "Stampin' Up!" set. The patterned paper is the "June Bug" collection by Basic Grey - one of my new favorites.

How was your weekend? It was gorgeous here in Conifer; we were in the high 70s all weekend long - and it didn't rain! That was a big change from last week :) Yesterday we took Iain's sister to the Flying J Ranch Park, which is just 15 minutes from our house. Today the two of them played golf at the Evergreen Golf Course. The kids and I ran some errands in the afternoon and met them at the Colorado Mills mall, and we had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. When we got home we watched the second "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie: "Dead Man's Chest" - tons of fun! Have a great week :)

Monday Thanks

Here's a fun thank you card for today (stamps by Stampendous; paper by Crate Paper; scallop punch by Fiskars). On this Monday I'm feeling thankful for:

• The sunshine and melted snow!
• My hubby, kiddos and pets
• My friends (IRL and online)
• Earl Grey tea
• Having a job that I truly enjoy
• Being just a few classes away from completing my degree!
• Creativity
• Strawberry season (yum!)
• Sunscreen (covering 3 recesses a day at school can take its toll!)

Feeling very lucky :)

I am feeling very, very lucky this weekend. Friday was the last day of school, so I knew that a chaotic day was in store :) First we had a staff breakfast where we all revealed whose "Secret Santa" we were - it was hilarious listening to some of the reasoning behind the guesses!!

Next came the kindergarten class party; we had about 8 parents helping out who had organized lots of crafts and food for the kids; they had a blast - what's not to like about anything involving glitter or frosting?? I was overwhelmed by the kind words from parents who came and spoke to me. One of them said, "In case you ever wonder if your job is worthwhile, don't ever doubt it. These kids love you!". Wow. Of course, as a mom I am always been very appreciative of my kids' teachers and I help out in whatever ways I can, but it was different this year hearing it from the other side since I'm now working at the school as a para.

The class also sang "Happy Birthday" to me and gave me some flowers and a beautiful leather journal. My birthday isn't until the 28th, but they somehow found out that it was during winter break and still celebrated anyway :)

I am a lucky, lucky girl! Happy holidays, everyone!
