Gramps
Gramps passed away this morning; his heart failed and the doctors were unable to revive him.
I am lucky to have known him. He was a very special man who had a kind word for everyone, no matter how he was feeling.
I'll miss you, Gramps.

Toni - I haven't opened my Google Reader in a week, and this was at the top when I did. I am so very sorry. I know he was so wonderfully special to you. I'm so glad you were able to spend a few days with him last month. Big (((Hugs))) to you.
I'm sorry for your loss, Toni, and like Rachel am glad you were able to spend some time w him.
I rec'd the following in a card when my Dad passed away and it's been true for me - I can't tell you how often a memory of some little thing he did makes me think of him:
It will be the little things that you will remember,
the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now,
it will be the memories of these little things
that help to push away the pain
and bring the smiles back again.
