Blogoversary Blog Candy - Day 3

Here we go with Day 3! Today's stamp set is another set of goodies from My Favorite Things. First, there's a white gel pen - this is one of my favorite things to use to add detail to my cards! And, of course there's a stamp set - today's set is one of the most recent "Flopsey" stamps from MFT. This one is called "Reading Flopsey" :) Isn't he sweet?
And...what do you need to do to enter today? Well, since Flopsey has his eyes on a good book, I'd like you to leave a comment to this post telling me about your favorite book ever. I'm always on the lookout for a great new read, and I'm sure the other readers wouldn't mind some book recommendations either! All the comments added by 6am (MST) on Saturday, January 24th will be entered into a random drawing, and I'll draw the winner that morning.
Good luck once again, everyone! And as always, thank you for stopping by!

Humm, well, I like romance books, but I think one of the best books or type of books would be all of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. And they have one out for the Scrapbooker and I just love it! Thanks for such a nice prize for your giveaway!

Netta January 23, 2009 at 4:04 AM

It is hard to say what is my favorite book..I have more like several books and they are from the series "Left Behind"...they are the type of book I can't get my nose out of but disappointed when I finish reading too quickly!! thanks for the opportunity to win!! Very cute stamp and it is always hard to get your hands on a good white gel pen!

One of my most favorite recent reads is Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen. A really great story set in the 30s or 40s (I think, I guess?) and life on a circus train. You really shoudl check it out!

SueB January 23, 2009 at 4:55 AM

Still ranked "right up there" for me is "Daddy Long Legs" by Jean Webster, who I just learned is the grandniece of Mark Twain and authored 8 novels including a follow-up to this one, which was made into one of my fav movies starring Fred Astaire. I've no idea where my copy is as I read it as a teen ... may have to re-read it!

Thanx for the memories and chance at t'riffic blog candy!

Ever? Ooh, I'd have to say Jane Eyre, which I read in high school as required reading- It turned out to be one I couldn't put down! Recently I've been reading the Twilight series, wow is it ever good!

Heather January 23, 2009 at 5:40 AM

I love to read and so narrowing down one favorite is almost impossible, but right up there at the top is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. LOVE those books and can't wait for the newest one to come out! I also love Gone With the Wind & Scarlett and almost anything by Mary Higgins Clark or David Baldacci.

Anonymous January 23, 2009 at 6:17 AM

I'm a huge reader so hard to narrow it down. I'd have to say any of the Stephanie Plum books from Janet Evanovich. They're light (which I need as I wind down for sleep) and make me laugh out loud.

My favorite book that I go back to at least once a year is Coming Home by Rosamunde Pilcher. I just read September by Rosamunde as well and it comes in close second. Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy is great too.

Karen January 23, 2009 at 8:16 AM

I love all kinds of books. Every so often a fun chick lit book brightens my mood. Check out Jen Lancaster "Such a Pretty Fat", "Bright Lights Big A**", "Bitter is the New Black"

vicky January 23, 2009 at 8:16 AM

The last book that I read and couldn't put down was the "Ghost ORchid". It was fascinating, funny and educational at the same time.

I love to read & have so many favorites, but one of my most recent reads was "Three Weeks With My Brother" by Nicholas Sparks. It's the story of Nick & his brother & a 3 week trip they took together around the world. While telling of all the wonderful places they go to, Nick also tells his life story & growing up and how he and his brother have come to be the last 2 surviving members of their family. He talks of his wife & kids - I never knew the things I know now about his kids.....you'll just have to read it too to know what I'm talking about!

Theresa Dagostino Forge January 23, 2009 at 8:23 AM

my favorite book is The Secret Garden by Tasha Tudor. I even got to see the play on broadway!!

Anonymous January 23, 2009 at 8:38 AM

my favorite book EVER is The Notebook. I read it in one day. I loved it long before it was a movie but I do still love the movie too!! I'm also a fan of ANYTHING James Patterson :)

Anonymous January 23, 2009 at 9:03 AM

So hard to narrow it down! I love mysteries and my favs are "Shutter Island" and "Mystic River" by Dennis Lehane, anything by Sue Grafton, and I also love "To Kill A Mockingbird."

Thanks for the chance to win!

Lisa January 23, 2009 at 9:06 AM

The last book I read was "He's not that up to it" which was very interesting. How many people are in sexless relationships and it's more because of the men (and their issues)than women. Once I read a book, I'm done and don't go back.

Sara Henton January 23, 2009 at 9:07 AM

Sorry I can't give you a "new" good read b/c my favorite book of all time is Pride & Prejudice. My favorite author is Jane Austen.

Anonymous January 23, 2009 at 9:10 AM

I love books so this will be hard to pick just one. I love mystery novels and one I am particularly fond of are the Emila Peabody series.

My favorite book...this is tough because I have a few that I could read over and over and never get tired of. I am going to go with The Godfather by Mario Puzo. After I read it the first time, I wanted to crawl into the book and be one of the Don's children.

Cheri January 23, 2009 at 10:28 AM

My favorite book ever is any of the Redwall books. Brian Jacques is a master storyteller! You can get a complete list of his works at Redwall.org by following the "library" link.

BLJ Graves Studio January 23, 2009 at 10:38 AM

Shannon January 23, 2009 at 12:46 PM

I could NEVER choose just ONE book as my very fave, but my most RECENT fave is "Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. Trust me, it will knock your socks off and have you (like me) begging for the sequel!
Blessings,

I haven't read very many fiction books during my life, I tend to read and look at instructional and photography books more, but do currently read books by Janet Evanovich... the Plum Series.

The stories are about a female bounty hunter in New Jersey who gets herself into all sorts of crazy, hilarious, predicaments.

A friend of mine told me I HAD to start reading the books... said they would totally crack me up. I was skeptical, but after reading one of the books, I've been hooked on them ever since. If you don't mind a little off-color humor, then the books are fun and easy read.

Thank you for the opportunity to win some blog candy!

StampinCathy January 23, 2009 at 12:58 PM

OMGosh!! This stamp is on my wishlist. Pick ME ME ME...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! If you like to read and want a book series that you can't stop reading it's Twilight. It's about love and vampires. They are planning on making a movie for all 4 books and the 1 movie is out. Thanks for a chance.

Janet January 23, 2009 at 1:12 PM

I am afraid that I have only read one book lately, but it was a good one. It is called "Rainbow's End" by Irene Hannon. I got it free in the mail from an inspirational romance book club. I didn't join, but the book sounded good and it was. Thanks for a chance to win a great stamp set and embellies!

Michelle January 23, 2009 at 1:27 PM

What a fun...and difficult question. I read 2-3 books each week, so it's very hard to pick just one! My all time favorite would have to be anything by Jane Austen, just barely on the top of the list is Persuasion. My favorite group of books is the Chronicles of Narnia. I loved them as a kid and am loving reading them to my kids now. Current writers - Janet Evanovich rocks, Laurell K. Hamilton keeps me up reading well into the night, and the Twilight series is engrossing.

Kerry January 23, 2009 at 2:27 PM

WOW... I just heard about your blog from MFT...and I love books as much as stamps. One of my favorite books is At Home in Mitford & all the Mitford books. I feel like the characters are my friends. Love Jane Austen books & Christy, by Catherine Marshall. Now reading Miss Julia series by Ann B Ross...fun & crazy series. Now I need to go back and see what everyone wrote for their favs.

Kerry January 23, 2009 at 2:31 PM

BTW...check out www.shelfari.com and see what your friends are reading. It's a great place to keep track of what you've read and put books on your shelf to read in the future. I'm going to put the Evanovich books on my shelf b/c they sound quite interesting.

hmmm, i have always been an avid speed reader so I devour books like popcorn! My recent fave was the Twilight series which i was reluctant to try but thought i would see what the fuss is about and fell deeply in obsessive love with them. I also have loved Harriet the Spy when I was younger, books by Karen Marie Moening, hmmm.......the nora roberts books that have a supernatural element- surprisingly really good, especially the trilogies. cheers and hope you find some new great reads from all the suggestions

Tracy January 23, 2009 at 4:09 PM

ohhhhh that's a good one Toni! I love anything by Jennifer Weiner. But the first book I read by her.. Good in Bed tops my list! And don't laugh by the title!

Alice January 23, 2009 at 6:36 PM

There are so many books I love, that I can't pick just one! If you like mysteries, I recommend anything by Tony Hillerman. My sister got me hooked on him.

:Jayne January 23, 2009 at 7:08 PM

You are going to think I'm nuts, but the first book that came to mind was a children's book, The Humbug Witch. It's about a little witch who can't get anything to go right with her witchyness, her spells and such. In the end she takes of her hat, her hair, her nose, and all her witchy clothes to be a little girl again. I loved reading this book to my preK classes and then making their own Humbug Witches. They always came out soooo cute!

anni January 23, 2009 at 7:57 PM

A Walk To Remember is my favorite. I read it once a year, check it out from our school library and every time it makes me cry!

Linda Carson January 23, 2009 at 8:04 PM

East of Eden by James Steinbeck is my favorite. It's a classic page-turner!

Michelle January 23, 2009 at 9:01 PM
