Sally at the vet....

We're a bit worried about Sally cat...she's always been a big girl and over the last 2-3 weeks she's lost quite a bit of weight; she's also drinking water almost constantly. She's our oldest cat; she turned 8 in February.
Iain's at the vet with her right now...please keep your fingers crossed for her...
UPDATE: the vet drew some blood, but we won't get the results back until Monday or Tuesday. He told Iain it could be a number of things, including a thyroid condition, diabetes, cancer, or kidney failure. I will keep you all posted early in the week...thank you for all your support! Those furry friends are so special...

Hi Toni! Try not to worry. I'm a mommy of 4 furry babies. My oldest is 16! The same thing has happened to our Hank. For him it turned out to be diabetes. With some insulin he's fine. Unfortunately this is common in our BIGGER furry friends.
I am sending loving thoughts your way that Sally will be okay. Please keep us posted. HUGS to you both!

Good luck to Sally! We had one cat who was loosing weight and wouldn't eat, and turned out she didn't like the new food we were getting, so it was very easily fixed. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's something easy!

Poor Sally! Maybe it's nothing serious...probably something a little medicine will clear right up. Remember...Sally's not old at 8! My Sam is nearly 12, and Beldar is 11. They're just middle-aged! :)

Oh, I hope your sweet Sally will be okay. We are all cat lovers here. We had to put ours' to sleep last September---we still miss and love them.
