I hope it's true...

that lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice - because our house got struck on Saturday evening! The four of us were playing the Wii together, then all within a split second we heard a loud CRACK - and an outlet plate flew 8ft across the room, having broken into 3 pieces!

Fortunately that and our internet antenna were the only things damaged. So here I am, posting via BlackBerry until the antenna is fixed.

If you're looking for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge, Ana has graciously stepped in for me - you can see her blog in my "Cat Pack" list over on the right. Thanks, Ana!

I hope you all had a super holiday weekend - hopefully I'll be back online very soon!

Oh my goodness gracious! How scary! I can't imagine how I would have reacted, but I bet screams would have been heard for a mile! So glad you're all fine!

Glad to hear you made out pretty much unscathed by the lightning! We had lightning strike back of our house once and altho' we'd paid over $100 (in late 80's prices) for sophisticated surge protection, it fried our first PC's motherboard. The silver lining in it all is that it provided the opportunity to upgrade when we replaced it.

You have certainly had some adventures since you've moved to the mountains. Good thing no one was in the way of the outlet plate, ouch!

Ohhhhhh Toni, I am so glad everyone is okay. You 'hear' about these things, but you never think they can happen. Sending you {{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}}!!!

Oh my! How scary! I had lightning hit and split a tree directly behind our house as a child, but never hit the house and certainly never send an outlet flying. Glad you all are ok. Hope your internet is back up soon.

Wow that had to be so scary! I sure hope it doesn't strike twice, for your sake!

Toni, I am really really sorry that it happened... Glad that your family is all right. And hope that antenna will be fixed shortly!

Glad to hear everyone is OK! We were just West of you and yet we had no lightening or thunder! Freaky!

Yikies Toni! How scary that must have been for you! I'm so glad that you and your family (including all the fur babies) are safe and sound. I know that I've been watching the lightning shows as of late with the boys outside...I'm always in awe of the sheer power of those bolts. So glad that everything if OK!

Linda

PS- Karrie and I are discussing the possibility of a virtual stamp night soon.

Wow, that is serious when it takes out your internet! Off to find that Cat's Pajamas challenge.

Yikes! That is so scary! Glad you are ok.
Not to scare you...the house next to us has been hit two times, possibly three, by lightening. Once it knocked out the appliances. Another time it started a fire in the attic.
I think that is really unusual, though!
