Don't you love those evenings when....

you discover around 9pm that the basement has a leak? Iain and I had just tucked Nattie in and as we got to the bottom of the stairs, our socks got soaked....to cut a long story short, we were up all night. Iain spent the whole night scooping up water so that it didn't extend into the rest of the basement; I was at the grocery store at 12.30am looking for mops, calling Allstate, trying to call plumbers....

Hmmm...plumbers. So much for those 24-hour "emergency" plumbers. I left messages at 3 numbers at 10pm. Only one even took the time to call back, and he can't get here till this morning (hopefully any minute now). Hopefully he can figure out quickly what the problem is.

I tried to stay awake. I think I fell asleep around 3am, and woke up at 6.30am to hear Iain still scooping. A nap will definitely be in order today - for everyone except Jamie, who slept through the whole thing. Oh, to be 5 again :)

Oh, I hope they are able to figure out where it's coming from! Leaks are awful! We had a night like that. But ours was from LOTS and LOTS of rain! We've learned to keep our gutters cleaned out!

That's terrible that you got a leak! Hopefully the plumber will figure out where the leak was and no major damages will encur.

I can relate to this one! It just happened last week when we got all that rain. Ours was not a plumbing problem but a roof problem! ugh... Its always something. Hope yours gets fixed quickly.

:-( :-( :-( Who'da thunk emergency plumbers didn't return calls during emergencies? Hope it's all figured out by now. Jill (Pea Jill_Ilene)
